Blackwater
Kennel was
established in 1987. Our dogs are bred for soundness, (form
follows function), drive and temperament, with the ability to be
good all-around working dogs. We are the breeders of our own
dogs and handle them ourselves in Field Trials, Hunt Tests, Breed
Confirmation and Obedience Trials.
All of our dogs have been tested for eye disease and heridtary defects before breeding:

OFA
Certification - this
means they are free of hip dysplasia

CERF - their
eyes are checked and certified clear of hereditary defects

Optigen Tested for PRA - a DNA-based test for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), a blinding eye disease.
